====== Tablet Screen Mirroring Setup ====== ===== Purpose and Scope ===== In this document, you will learn how to install and use the free and open source tool //scrcpy//. This tool lets you mirror and control an Android device from a PC. It can be used at the registration desk of a health facility and avoid the nurses having to switch constantly from the PC to the tablet. ===== Prerequisite ===== None ===== Material ===== You will need the following material: * A tablet * A PC * A micro-USB to USB cable (to connect the tablet to the PC) ===== Device Setup ===== To setup Screen Mirroring on your device, follow the steps given below. Note that for some tablets, the setting arrangements are not the same as the procedure below. So If the arrangement of your tablet is different, feel free to go with the different procedure to perform the same operation. - Go to ''Settings'' > ''System'' > ''About''. - Press on the ''Build number'' 10 times until you see a message saying you activated developer options. - Go back to ''System''. - In ''Developer options'', activate ''USB debugging'' and confirm the popup. - Go back to the home screen. ===== PC Setup ===== Follow these steps to setup Screen Mirroring on your PC: - Download //scrcpy// tool from https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy: * Scroll down until you see ''Get the app'' > ''Windows''. * Download the ''zip'' archive. - Head to where the file was downloaded (Usually ''C:\Users\\Downloads''). - Unzip the downloaded file: //Right click// > ''Extract all''. ===== Run the tool ===== To start Screen Mirroring, follow this procedure: - Make sure that your device is connected to the computer via USB. - Open the folder you extracted the tool in. - Double click on ''scrpy.exe''. You should see a popup on the Android device. Click ''Allow''. The device screen is not mirrored and controllable from the PC.
